Global leader in the transportation/travel services industry is seeking to add a National Account Manager to its sales team. This customer and service driven organization focuses on delivering products and services that build customer excitement, strengthens their brand loyalty, and ultimately driving increased market share and improved operating margins.
The National Account Manager position is an individual sales contributor role and will contribute to the company's success by developing and growing profitable revenue to support the business strategy. Revenue development will come from potential clients: small businesses, corporate divisions, hotels, retailers, sports teams, theme parks, moving companies, package companies and other organizations with transportation needs.

The National Account Manager, will be instrumental in developing sales strategies to acquire and retain customers, working with their regional and territory managers, as well as guiding and directing those within the industry to maximize their business through joint sales efforts.

  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers, to achieve segment growth on a national level
  • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies that maximize all sales opportunities
  • Implement strategies to drive profitable revenue growth and market share.
  • Build and maintain effective referral relationships
  • Deliver effective presentations and proposals to customers and business reviews to management
  • Identify, respond and solve business issues for customers and provide win-win solutions that add value
  • Coordinate the negotiation of rates and contract terms to solidify pending deals

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years sales related experience, 2 of which involve national account, major account or regional sales management responsibilities
  • Ability to generate new and innovative ways or methods to sell products and services
  • Strong researching, prospecting, lead generation, presentation, negotiation and closing skills
  • Strong relationship and business development skills that deliver results
  • Ability to demonstrate ease and professionalism when meeting with clients
  • Excellent business acumen and strong planning, organization and priority setting skills to leverage relationships, both internal and external
  • Collaborative style and a team player with peers and senior leadership
  • Must have a high degree of integrity, credibility, energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
  • Superior problem solving skills - must be resourceful and creative with solutions
  • Solid PC skills including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to truck/shipping/transportation industry a plus
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Willingness to travel overnight for business required. Based on geographic location the percent of overnight travel will vary
  • Candidate must have a valid driver's license
